The cast of The Rookie has said sorry for the sharp cliffhanger ending to Season 8. Fans had been left in suspense after the final scene ended mid-action. Creator Alexi Hawley said at a fan event that Season 9's premiere will be longer than usual. Nathan Fillion announced that filming for Season Nine starts on the fifth of August.
