A majority of members in the Australian Education Union’s Victoria branch voted against the state government’s latest pay offer, prompting public school teachers to walk out.

The AEU declared a labor pullout when the vote revealed 51 percent rejected the revised offer.

The strike has been confirmed and planned to go ahead without fresh talks planned for now.

Students in state schools are likely to experience interruptions as educators leave their posts.
