The London Tornado of 1091 is notable for being the earliest documented English tornado. On 17 October that year, a significant tornado event occurred in London, resulting in severe destruction across the city. Reports indicate that the tornado caused significant damage to buildings, including the Church of St Mary-le-Bow. The Church was completely leveled, with four 26-foot rafters driven deep into the ground. In addition, approximately 600 wooden houses were demolished, and only two fatalities were recorded.
