A storm system in the Gulf of Mexico may affect Florida over the weekend. The National Hurricane Centre says the probability of it intensifying stands at 30%. Could bring floods and gale-force gusts. Currently, the system is still weak but could increase before landfall. Torrential rain should hit much of the state. Forecasters do not think it will become a named storm yet.
