Ed Husic, Australia’s Minister for Industry and Science, condemned Labour’s inner culture after his proposal to allow a debate on recognising Gaza failed to pass.
Prime Minister Anthony Albanese said described his remark at a gathering as incompetent.
Husic responded by saying he was unperturbed by criticism, telling reporters: "put me in a ice box, I couldn't care less."
The dispute followed previous efforts to push the party to formally recognise events in Gaza as genocide.
Internal papers and internal files were later filed that revealed serious rifts within Labour’s ranks over policy and direction.
